Mimic Party Online voice party game. 1 to 5 players.
Mimic Party is the party game where you hear a sound and get one shot to reproduce it with your own voice. A local AI grades how close you got, and the wheel decides who walks away with a bonus and whose next take comes back saturated, echoing, or replaced by a fart.
What is Mimic Party ?
Mimic Party is an online voice party game developed by FoliesApp, an independent French game studio. One to five players, around ten minutes a game, and everything is played with a microphone: no controller input decides a round, only what comes out of your mouth.
Every round reveals one reference sound to the whole table at once: an animal, a machine, a voice, a noise nobody can name. Everybody records on the same countdown, then the takes are played back one by one while the room reacts. There is no rehearsal and no second attempt.
The imitations are scored, the scores are public, and between rounds a wheel hands out points, multipliers and sabotages. You aim a sabotage at whoever you like, and they only find out when their take plays.
How a round works
- 1
The sound drops. A reference sound is revealed to the whole table at the same moment. Listen carefully, you only get it once.
- 2
Everybody records at once. One countdown for the entire table. No waiting your turn, no watching four other players go first while you forget what you heard.
- 3
One shot, no undo. No retry, no re-record, no mercy. Whatever came out of your mouth is what everyone is about to hear.
- 4
Playback, one by one. Each take plays for the whole room while everyone else is muted, so nobody misses a second of it.
- 5
The AI scores out of 100. Melody, rhythm and attacks are compared to the reference. The score lands right after your take, in front of everybody.
- 6
The wheel decides. Before the next round, the wheel hands out points, multipliers and sabotages. Then it starts again with a new sound.
Everything in Mimic Party
1 to 5 players online
A party game for one to five players, about ten minutes a game.
One-shot takes
No retries, no undo, no mercy. The take you send is the take they hear.
Local AI scoring
Melody, rhythm and attacks, graded on your machine, not in the cloud.
The wheel
Between rounds it spins for everyone: points, multipliers and sabotages to hand out.
Sabotages
Saturation, echo, pitch shift, chopped audio, or your take swapped for a fart.
Smart voice chat
The table goes quiet exactly when someone performs, and opens again for the reaction.
Themed sound packs
Animals, machines, voices and more, picked at random across the packs you own.

We don't care about your voice
Scoring is built around what a human throat can actually reproduce: the shape of the melody, the rhythm, the attacks, whether you barked once or three times. Not your timbre, and not the microphone you bought.
A deep voice and a high voice doing the same curve score the same. Nobody wins a round because they got lucky with their vocal cords, and nobody loses one because they recorded in a small room.
- Melody compared in relative pitch, so your register never counts against you.
- Rhythm and attacks measured on the whole take: one bark does not pass for three.
- Everything runs locally on your machine while the round keeps going.
The wheel decides
Between rounds the wheel spins for everyone at once. It hands out points, multipliers and sabotages, and a sabotage is aimed: you pick your victim.
Their next take comes out saturated, echoing, chopped to pieces, or replaced outright by a garbage sound the whole table hears instead of their voice. It costs them points on top. And they only find out who aimed at them when their take plays.
The room goes quiet
Voice chat is always on, except when it should not be. The moment a take starts playing, the whole table is muted so everyone hears exactly the same thing.
The second it ends, the mics open again, right in time for the reaction. That half-second is the game.
Bring your own noises
Sound packs are just content. Make one, publish it to the Steam Workshop in a couple of clicks, and subscribe to whatever the community comes up with.
Everyone at the table needs the pack before a game can start, and the lobby tells you exactly who is still downloading.

FAQ Mimic Party
What is Mimic Party? +
Mimic Party is an online voice party game for 1 to 5 players, developed by the independent studio FoliesApp. Each round plays a reference sound to the whole table, everyone gets a single take to reproduce it with their voice, and a local AI scores how close each imitation got.
How many players can play Mimic Party? +
One to five players online, in the same session. A game lasts about ten minutes, which is roughly four rounds.
Do I need a microphone to play? +
Yes. The entire game is played with your voice, so a microphone is required. Any standard mic works (gaming headset, webcam mic, laptop mic). Headphones are strongly recommended so the game audio does not leak back into your take.
How does the AI scoring work? +
Each take is compared to the reference sound on melody, rhythm and attacks, which is what a human voice can actually reproduce. Timbre is deliberately ignored, so a deep voice and a high voice performing the same curve get the same score. The analysis runs locally on your machine.
What are sabotages? +
Between rounds a wheel hands out points, multipliers and sabotages. A sabotage is aimed at a player of your choice: their next take is played back saturated, echoing, chopped up, or replaced by a garbage sound, and it costs them points. The victim only finds out when their take plays.
Can I create my own sound packs? +
Yes. Mimic Party ships with themed sound packs, and you can build your own and publish it to the Steam Workshop in a couple of clicks. Everyone at the table needs a pack installed before a game using it can start.
When is Mimic Party coming out? +
Mimic Party is planned for Q3 2026 on Steam, for Windows PC. Adding it to your Steam wishlist is the fastest way to be notified on release day.
Who develops Mimic Party? +
Mimic Party is developed and published by FoliesApp, an independent French game studio, also behind Animic, a multiplayer Battle Royale played with your voice.
